We know visiting a new church can be intimidating!
What should I wear? Where do my kids go? We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church and we want you to feel right at home when you visit.
Check out these FAQs:
What should I wear?
There is no dress code for attending services at Kirby Church. Some attenders dress casually and some dress up. You are free to come exactly as you are.
What happens when I arrive?
When you arrive at a Kirby Church service you’ll be greeted by a friendly smile from one of our greeters. There will be a 5-minute countdown to let you know when service will start, so you can be sure to get your seat before the service begins.
3. What is the service like?
Our services will feature a time of passionate praise and worship, a few announcements about what’s happening at our church, and then a message. Most weekends, our Senior Pastor, Mike Trimble will preach. Our services close with a brief time to respond to God in both worship and prayer.
4. What about my kids?
Our kids ministry provides an amazing weekend experience. Visit the check-in kiosk where our team will register your children and give them a name badge with a parent pick-up tag. Please let us know if your child has any allergies or special requirements during the check-in time. At the end of the service, simply show your parent pick-up tag to the leader and your student will be release to you.
5. How can I get connected?
The best way to get connected is by joining a small group and by serving! Reach out to Pastor Emery our connections pastor for more ways to get involved.
1. WHAT ARE YOUR SUNDAY SERVICES LIKE?
Each Sunday at Kirby, you’ll find a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with exciting, contemporary worship music and a practical, relevant message. Children are well cared for in a loving, quality nursery and fun-filled Kids services.
2. WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN I VISIT FOR THE FIRST TIME?
Your first time with us, we promise not to embarrass you, have you stand up, or invite ourselves over for lunch. We know that many people want to “be anonymous” at a new church for awhile—and that’s fine with us! Come in, enjoy a coffee, and see if this is the church for you.
3. WHAT DO I WEAR TO ATTEND YOUR SERVICES?
We are pretty laid back. You will find many people dressed pretty casually. Some people even wear shorts all year around! Come ready to relax, have a good time, and be encouraged by God’s Word.
4. WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
We are located at 2773 Will Carelton Rd in Flat Rock, MI. You can be to I-275 from our parking lot in about 3 minutes.
6. WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?
At Kirby, your children are a top priority. Our nurseries are clean, safe, and staffed with loving workers. We offer a dynamic children’s ministry called Kirby Kids as well as life-changing ministry to students from junior high through college.
7. HOW CAN I MEET OTHERS AND GET CONNECTED?
There are a few ways. The first and most obvious, you can come to one of our Sunday services where you’re sure to have somebody shake your hand and introduce themselves. Secondly, you can reach out to our Connections Leader, Emery Sears, at emery@kirbychurch.com and he’ll be happy to help you find an entry point that works for you and your family. Make sure to stop by our Connection Centers in the lobby when you come.
8. WHY DO YOU HAVE SMALL GROUPS?
Small groups are a huge part of Kirby Church; in fact, you haven’t fully experienced the church until you’ve experienced our community groups. Groups allow you to meet others in our church and spark a more life-giving relationship with Christ and His church.
